What is Podiatry?
You may be
surprised to know that your feet are not supposed to
hurt and most foot problems can be resolved with early
medical intervention. If you are having a foot problem,
you are not alone, twenty percent of the population seek
help for a foot problem every year. Commonly treated
foot and ankle problems would include the following:
Nail or skin excrescencies such as ingrown nails, fungus
nails, warts, corns and calluses and dry skin.
Musculoskeletal problems such as infant tripping, flat
or high arched feet or in-toeing, joint pain, joint
misalignments, plantar fascitis, bunion deformities,
hammer toes, and osteoarthritis. Traumatic injuries
from sports such as ankle sprains, toe crushing
injuries, dislocations, muscle strains, bursitis and
tendonitis. And Endocrine problems such as gout or foot
complications from diabetes.
